We had so much fun with Tyrone.  Tried to get him to give up the location of where a "certain something" (a wonderful new product that will be in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog) was located.  But, he would not crumble!  Such a loyal employee!

The Holiday Mini Catalog will be out in September, so you'll want to be on the lookout for it.  That will be when you'll find out that the "certain something" is I'm talking about.  Smile!  As with Tyrone, my lips too, for now are sealed.

So, one of the biggest THRILLS of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is attending our annual convention.  Words cannot describe how FUN it is!  Even after these many, many years as a demonstrator I'm still amazed at how they put this whole thing on.  Yep, simply AMAZING!  Okay, so I have TONS of pictures, but I'll try to widdle it down to just some of my faves in these next few days.  So, in no particular order...

One of the highlights for me is visiting our corporate office in Riverton, UT.  Just as with Shelli Gardner, Co-Founder and owner of Stampin' Up!, this building is BEAUTIFUL both inside and out!  And to think she and her sister, Vonna (La Vonne) started this business working out of their LIVINGROOM!

Imagine what it's like to come into work to this everyday.  And, here's the "Ideas Room", what a fun place to get to play and actually get paid to do so!  Check out those comfy bean bag chairs!  The glassed-in-room straight ahead is a conference room where the walls are all "white boards" where you can write messages on.  Also below is my dear friend Catherine, next to the message she left behind...

So, I want to share with you this cool sign I made for my downline to easily spot me at the upcoming Stampin' Up! convention being held next week in Salt Lake City, UT.

The theme for this year's convention is "GROW", so the flower there is perfect.  Here's an even closer look...

 

I wish you could see this flower in real life.  It is so cool!  Made with cardstock, although looks and feels more like suede.  Thus the "Faux Suede" technique.  Here's how it's done:

Start with punching or die cutting your cardstock.  I used the three flowers from the Bigz Fun Flowers Die (item #121812) shown here.

 

Run each of your shapes through your crimper (item #101618) at least 15 times.  This will help to break up the fibers of the cardstock and you'll notice the front and back sides of the cardstock start to separate. Next, carefully pull the back and front layers appart.  Wad each of the pieces up and open them back up.  Layer the pieces on top of the other from large to small.  Poke a whole in the center, using a paper piercer and foam mat and add your brad of choice.  Shape as needed.

The letters are very glittery and oh so pretty!  Again, I wish you can see it in real life.
