WASHER PENDANTS WITH SAB DSP

I loved making these for all those in my downline who attended Leadership this year.  They are so nice (even better in real life) and make great gifts.

The pendants were made using washers purchased at the home improvement store.  You can use whatever size you choose to make these.  The ones I used are 1/2". 

To make them, just punch out your DSP with the appropriate size circles using your punches.  Apply them to the washers using our Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755).  I then used the emery board and one of the precision files from our Distressing Essentials kit (#118762) along the edges.  You can't see too much of the dimension and shine in the picture, but it's what really makes this look so pretty. It was done by applying a thick layer of Crystal Effects (#101055).

DO YOU BELIEVE IN GHOST?!?

Okay, so how does this relate to Stampin' Up! and Leadership you ask?  Well, the only thing is that I stayed at The Menger Hotel while I was in San Antonio for our Leadership conference last week.  But, I just had to share...

The Menger Hotel is a beautiful historic hotel built in 1859.  President Theodore Roosevelt and Babe Ruth are just a couple of the most prominent guest who had stayed there. Directly across the street from the Alamo, it is known to have hauntings.  You can CLICK HERE to read about some of the experiences guest have encountered.  If you "Google" "Hauntings at the Menger Hotel", there are even links to YouTube videos that claim to have "ghost" appearing in them.  I know, pretty spooky, huh?  While I was there I asked a few of the staff members if they had ever experienced anything.  The bellboy who took me up to my room told me of an experience he encountered.  Others said that they personally had not, but they know of co-workers who had.  I personally did not experience anything (thank goodness - especially since I was staying in the room all by myself), but there were times when it did feel kind of eerie, although the place truly is very elegant, so I guess that's why I didn't seem to mind.  I do have to admit, I kept all the lights on to my room my first night there.  Perhaps the "ghost" knew to leave me alone, otherwise they may have had a heart attack victim on their hands!  Ha! Ha!

So, here are just a few pictures of this beautiful hotel...

Humm, I don't know about you, but those white spots (up toward the top of the picture, below) look like "orbs" to me, not quite sure where those came from.  I'm sure there must be some scientific explination as to why they appeared.  Perhaps from the flash of the camera (?).  Honestly, I just now noticed them as I uploaded this onto here.  Weird. 

Would I recommend a stay at The Menger Hotel?  I certainly would.  The staff there was wonderful.  Poor customer service at some other place with no ghost?  Now that's what I call "scary"!

I'M BACK!!!

Yes, yes - I know, I have seriously been MIA, big time! I had gotten sick with the stomach flu just before the holidays, I got better, then the holidays came and went. Last week I was in San Antonio, TX for Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference and got sick again, days leading up to and the first couple days of.  This time with a terrible cold and cough. I'm now at the tail end of this nasty cough, but I'm back home and ready to get back to work!  But, for now, I'd love to share just a few pics of my time in Texas this past week, if I may...

Humm, can you guess this year's theme?  Yes, it was, "My Way".  That's Shelli Gardner, CEO and co-founder of Stampin' Up! on stage.

For this year's Manager's Reception we were treated to a show featuring Chinese Acrobats.  Very cool! 

 

That's my dear friend / downline, Katy and me, just before we went in to watch the show.  See that quilted bag on my shoulder?  That was our Leadership bag made with some of our cool Stampin' Up! fabric.  It's so much nicer in real life.  Reversible too!And, see that clear bag I'm holding with the cool little boxes?  I'll share with all of you, by the end of the week, a close up look at one of them along with what's inside.  So you'll want to make it a point to keep coming back to pay me a visit, okay?

Now this particular performance, I have to admit, made my hands sweat!  Even though this guy put on the harness as he got to the last couple chairs, it still made me very nervous!  But, it was pretty amazing!  You can't really tell from the picture, but those chairs were stacked very high up.  Yep, they were a little larger than your average size chair.
