CRAZY FOR CUPCAKES AND CUPCAKE WHEEL RETIRING

A LESSON LEARNED - SUMMER SMOOCHES FABRIC DESIGNER BRADS ARE SOLD OUT

We're counting down to the last days for ordering from the  Occasions Mini Catalog as well as Summer Smooches Promotional.  They both will end this Monday, April 30th. 

In regards to the Summer Smooches Promotion, all the items, with the exception of the fabric brads and stencil will be coming back and will be available to order again in June, but why wait when you can get them NOW?  The card holders below show the Summer Smooches Fabric Designer Brads that where available for a limited time, however, let this be a lesson learned...  They were to be available only until the end of this month OR just while supplies last.  Well, they were so popular that the supplies have already been depleted!  I was debating whether to still show you these samples or not, but they turned out so nice that I just couldn't resist.  Now, do keep in mind, although the particular brads used are no longer available, you can still make these great card holders using other designs and supplies.

Now, in regards to the Mixed Bunch stamp set (w -125535   c - 125537), the Blossom Punch (125603) and the Adorning Accents Edgelit Die (125595).  These are all in the Occasions Mini Catalog, again, ending this Monday.  Will they be carried oninto the new 2012 - 2013 Stampin' Up! >  CLASSIC STAMPIN' PADS - All the colors are listed, but don't fret!  The "pads" themselves are going to be changed to a "firm foam" pad, which will make stamped images with pads even better than they already are!  So, that's exciting news!  I personally, can't wait to start trying them out!  Now, keep in mind, that the 2010 - 2012 "In-Color" pads will be going out for good, so, if you don't already have wonderful colors, you may want to order them now before they're no longer available.  And, don't forget to order a bottle or two of the reinkers, as well.

RICH RAZZLEBERRY MIXED BUNCH "THINKING OF YOU" CARD

I love how this card turned out.  The Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, DSP design from the Summer Smooches Collection, button from the Brights Designer Buttons collection, as well as the Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink Pad color just goes to show how beautifully all of our various coordinating color products work so perfectly with one another.  Where else can do get that?!?  Just try going a "brick and mortar" craft store (names will go unsaid - I'm sure you know which ones I'm talking about) to get all these products in perfect matching colors.

A RETIRING FAVORITE - MEDALLION STAMP

I have to admit, when I was going over the RETIREMENT LIST of stamps, I was surprised the the Medallion Stamp (#115223) was on there.  It's such a beautiful single stamp.  It really can stand alone. 

 

We used it for the "Ghosting On DSP" technique at our stamp club last year.  Below is a 6" x 6" technique page with the instructions on how to achieve this cool look along with the card sample we made to go along  with it.

Of course, as with most samples shown here, the picture really does not do it any justice.  It's so much more stunning in real life.  Give it a try and when you do, you'll see what I mean for yourself.

MIXED BUNCH "ROLO" BOUQUET

I love the Mixed Bunch (w - #125535  c - #125537) stamp set in the  Occasions Mini Catalog, especially coupled with the Blossoms Punch (#125603), also found in the mini.  Will they go or will they stay when the new 2012 - 2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog comes out?  I hope so!  But, no one really knows for sure.  So, my suggestion is that, if you love both these items as much as I do, you'll want to make it a "sure thing" to have them and ORDER THEM NOW while you still can.

WALMART OPTICAL THANK YOU

I don't know about you, but my experience is that when I go into a WalMart I don't exactly expect to get "good customer service".  However, at the FirstSite Vision Service Optical Department, inside the WalMart in Cerritos, CA, I did get just that - GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Bigz XL Die (113483) was announced to be retiring last year I remember thinking, "Nooooo!!!  I love that die.  Why would they want to get rid of that?"  I've made so many great banners for various celebrations with it.  Well, guess what, it is still available and to top it off, the offer for it even better!  It went into the "Clearance Rack".  Once sold for $39.95, now available for only $15.99!  That's a 60% savings!  It's just one of dozens of Clearance Rack items.

In fact, the only other items that were used for this pennant and are currently still available are the Real Red 8-1/2" x 11" Card Stock (102482) and Serif Essentials Alphabet Dies (113464), so when placing your order for the Pennent Die, I would highly recommend including the alphabet.  They'll be the perfect size for your banner.

PETAL CONE EASTER BASKET

With this being the Easter weekend, I thought it would be fun to post this basket from last year for those of you who might have missed it.  It was made with our wonderful Petal Cone Die.  As you can see, the brad in the middle of the flower was covered using the the technique of the tutorial I just did the other day.  CLICK HERE to find out how. 

Yes, those are matching DSP covered Hershey Nuggets.

 

I don't have exact directions, but here's the general cutting and scoring pattern for getting started with putting this basket together.  After you cut the die out with your Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439) you'll need to fold the shape below in half.  Then cut and score as shown.  You'll need two pieces to start creating.  I'm sure when you do it, you'll be able to figure out the rest, it's really quite easy.
