This post is a bit different from what I normally do.
Today I've been working on something of which I've combined to things that have been a part of my life that has made me part of who I am. My alma mater, Carson High School and Stampin' Up! Yep! I know sounds funny huh? So, let me explain...
I graduated from Carson High School (suburb of Los Angeles, CA), class of 1974. On October 5, 2013 Carson High will be celebrating their 50th year anniversary with a celebration at the school. We're going to decorate a room with memorabilia and displays showing some of the history as well as honoring some of those past students who have had great accomplishments after graduating. Here, are some of the athletes who graduated from Carson:
WESLEY WALKER - Class of 1973 - NFL New York Jets - 1977 - 1979 Pro Bowl - Led NFL in receiving yardage in 1978
RALPH MANN - Class of 1967 - Silver Metal 1972 Olympic Games 400 meter intermediate hurdles. US National Champion 1969 - 1971
MIKE WILSON - Class of 1977 - NFL San Francisco 49ers 1981 - 1990. Was only one of a few NFL players to be a member of 4 champion teams.
TERRY HUMPREY - Class of 1967 - Major League Baseball 1971 - 1979
J. R. REDMOND - Class of 1996 - NFL 2000 - 2004 Played for the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders.
ANTHONY CALDWELL - Class of 1979 - NFL Football 1983 - 1985 Denver Broncos
ARNOLD ALE - Class of 1988 - All Conference Football Player UCLA and Notre Dame - NFL San Diego Chargers 1996 - Kansas City Chiefs 1994
MORRIS UNUTOA - Class of 1989 - NFL Philadelphia Eagles 1996 - 1998, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1999 - 2000 and 2002, Buffalo Bills 2001, Tampa Bay
RICK BASKA - Class of 1970 - NFL Denver Broncos 1976 - 1977
LATARIO RACHAL - Class of 1991 - NFL San Diego Chargers 1997 - 1998
Pretty cool, huh? At least I sure do think so!
So, what does this have to do with Stampin' Up!? Well, nothing really. Only today, I've been busy putting together these 12" x 12" pages that will be put on display with photographs of some of Carson High's accomplished former students. The plan is also to decorate, of course, using Stampin' Up! products. I will be sure to take pictures at the celebration and will post here after the grand event. But, here's what I've done so far...
Did you go to Carson High School? If you haven't already heard about this celebration and would like more information, you can CLICK HERE for CHS 50th Anniversary Facebook page. Also, be sure to spread the word. Would love to have all of Carson's alumni there!
The Fall season will be upon us in just a few more weeks. This banner isn't quite a fancy as the Halloween one I posted the other day, HERE, but I like it just the same.
The stamped leaves are from one of my favorite fall season sets, Gently Falling (w - 128430 c - 123804).
How do you like the 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon (132140) on the letter "F" part of the banner? It can be found in the Holiday Catalog, along with so many wonderful accessories available to order until January 2, 2014.
So, simple or fancy... Which ever your style, Build a Banner lets you do it YOUR way!

18 5" x 7" Blank Canvas Paper Pennants - 6 each of 3 designs
9 feet of Jute Twine
Full set of Alphabet Stencils

Here's a "WELCOME" banner I made using this kit. The only product I used to make this that was not included in this kit was a few squirts of Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Ink Refill (115663). This color, although not shown in the picture, was perfectly matched with the sofa set in our living room.
This banner kit can also be teamed up with the Halloween and Christmas accessory kits also found in the Holiday Catalog. Stay tuned. More on those in the coming days.
I've introduced to you the NEW Thinlits Card Dies, now let me "re-introduce" to you the Create a Cupcake (w - 128520 c - 121982) stamp set and coordinating Cupcake Builder Punch (121807). I've used them together to create this fun birthday card.
Hi everyone - I'm back! I know I haven't been very consistent with posting lately. Had been having computer issues. Looks like my computer had been hit by "a bug"! I just want to give a big shout out to my dear "little" cousin, Arnold, for helping to get things up and running again. If you live in the Southern California area and ever have computer issues let me know. I'll hook you up with him. He's a computer engineer and really knows his stuff. He didn't even have to come over. We did everything over the phone. He really gave me a good computer lesson - not that I took everything in, but I did learn quite a bit. If you know me, I am so not a "computer person". If he was able to help me, you know he's good! So, do keep this in mind next time YOU have computer issues. Now, back to business at hand...
I am absolutely love, love, loving Stampin' Up!'s new Card Thinlits Dies! Oh my gosh, I see an addiction coming on. CLICK HERE for more information and watch the video about them. You'll see that they can help you create a fun "interactive" card.
I have my monthly stamp class here at my home this Sunday and this is going to be the card we'll be making using the Label Card Thinlit Die. Isn't this the cutest card?
Here's a birds eye view...
The Owl Builder Punch (119074) is great to create not just owls, but ghost as well. Just cut off the legs and turn it upside down.
The "Trick or Treat" stamp is from the Tags 4 You ( w - 131820 c - 131823) stamp set found in the Holiday Catalog. Yes, it has the coordinating Label Bracket Punch (132153) and yes, if you purchase them together as a BUNDLE, you save 15%! Here are the code numbers for the discount: w - 133293 c - 133294.

Looks like I missed posting last Tuesday, so I'm going to make up for it this time. I have so many pictures yet of convention that are still just sitting here in my computer. So, I've made up 4 pages this time around, 3 of which are of pictures with just some of the members of my team, The Year-Round Fun Set Group. These aren't even half of the pictures I have from convention either. See, told you I have a lot! So, here you go... If you'd like a larger view, you can click on each of the pages.
Wouldn't you like to be a part of my team? I sure would love to have you. Keep in mind that now's a good time because it'll be your opportunity to choose extra merchandise to add to your starter kit. CLICK HERE for more information.
Now back to My Digital Studio. Have you purchased your MDS software yet? Before you purchase, did you know that you can try it out first, free for 30 day? Just CLICK HERE to get started.
